Every time that a student from a foreign University contacts us with the intention to come to Gran Canaria for an Erasmus+ Traineeship, we are assailed by a great joy.

As residents, we daily experience the privilege to live in the southerst part of Spain: a wonderful archipelago of small islands that are politically Europe, geografically Africa but culturally a mix of world pieces. Who lives or has spent a long period somewhere in the Canaries knows what we refer to. Therefore, every time that someone chooses this place as destination for a study trip, an internship or simple holidays, we are happy to share with them its beauty and peculiarity.
Part of this peculiarity is the fact that despite the reduced dimenions and the tropical life, the Canary Islands offer lots of opportunities for training. And this is especially true for the biggest and most populated islands, like Gran Canaria and Tenerife, that are the heart of commercial exchanges and hosts both Spanish and international businesses operating in many economic sectors.
Our varied group of single participants for the 2018 Erasmus+ Traineeship Program in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the demonstration of that: 7 university students from 4 different European countries (Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Bulgaria), having an intership in Gran Canaria in different working areas.
Let’s know them:
- Giuseppe, Physiotherapy student training at Galen Masajes;
- Elena, Nursing student training at Clinica del Carmen;
- Agnieszka, Telecommunications student training at Palet Express;
- Angel, Finance student training at Proexca;
- Martin, Electronic Engineering student working at SubSea Mechatronics;
- Patrycja, Materials Science student training at Hispalux;
- Laura, Architecture student training at Sistema IngenierĂa.
They all stayed in Gran Canaria from 2 to 4 months, mostly during the spring and summer of 2018, working full time at their hosting companies. Almost no one spoke Spanish at the arrival, but they had the change to learn it at work and thanks to the new friends that they met. During the Final Evaluation Meeting they said to be happy about the experience and they would have been willing to stay even longer!!
INTERMOBEX loves to receive this kind of feedback: it helps us to do always better and offer unforgettable mobility experiences to our international students. So we end this year with great satisfaction!
